Important notes regarding Vanier Application
- The Vanier CGS online application must be sent electronically to the Canadian university nominating the student when the student has finished it through ResearchNet. Direct application submission to the Vanier CGS programme is not possible.
- In order to apply for a Vanier CGS, students must confirm that the PhD programme they are applying to has a Vanier CGS quota. The next step is for them to let the institution know that they would like to be considered for a Vanier CGS.
- If an application is not chosen for nomination to the Secretariat, the individual must receive notification from the institution. Institutions may differ in the timing of this announcement.
- The institution will send the Secretariat its nominations in accordance with its quota.
- There can only be one nomination per student. A student may only nominate themselves for a Vanier CGS at one institution, even if multiple institutions are interested in supporting them. It will not be accepted to nominate more than once.
